Is it me, or does "invocation of Lagrangian multipliers" sound more mystical than mathematical? (And can't you just see all the mathemagicians, wearing robes covered in occulted symbols and inexplicable formulae, kneeling in circles on the floor, chanting suppose you wish to maximise the function f(x), subject to the following constraints...? Or is that just me?)
