The second round of Fallen London Mysteries are closing tomorrow, and I've been meaning to get my answers down. I'm making a record of them here so that I can check how many I got right after everything's sorted.
Update: I got fifteen out of twenty. I feel a bit hard done by about one of the other five.
What was Moloch Street called before London fell?
Baker Street
What was Elderwick called before London fell?
Wych Street
Apparently the answer they wanted was the rather less specific Aldwych; not entirely sure I feel classifying "Wych Street" as wrong is fair here.
What was Lusitania Row called before London fell?
Piccadilly
What was Blythenhale called before London fell?
Bethnal Green
What are the seven colours of the Neathbow?
Irrigo, Violant, Cosmogone, Peligin, Apocyan, Viric, Gant
What is the Great Game played for?
Advantage. (One plays the game to be a player, though it may have other benefits)
Correct answer: "The secret currencies in the Bazaar’s vaults." Which I now (temporarily) possess a handful of. This appears to have been a very tricky piece of lore to actually get prior to the answers being handed out, requiring a rather specific set of choices in a story with many options that you can (normally) only pass through once.
Name the seven doors of the Bazaar
Copper, Ormolu, Steel, Ivory, Glass, Paper, Teeth
What does the Bishop of Southwark keep in his barn?
Mr Hearts
Why do Snuffers eat candles?
To replenish themselves; they too are made of wax.
Who is May?
A member of the revolutionary council; probably the Manager of the Royal Bethlehem.
One of the Empress' issue died. But which?
Prince Leopold (The "delicate duke")
What happened to the working man's friend?
Killed by the Haunted Doctor
Who was the original architect of the Dawn Machine?
June, of the Calendar Club (while at the Admiralty, before she turned to revolution)
Name a hero of the season of revolutions
Feducci
Who hid the key in the well?
The fates, the mercies, the sisters three
Correct answer: The Implacable Detective. Ok, that took me by surprise; I had no idea she was involved, and need to investigate further.
Who was the first noman?
Mr Sacks
Who opened the mirrors?
Stone (the Mountain of Light)
Rats; wrong generation - it was actually Mt Nomad, Stone's daughter.
Why do cats hate snakes?
They are at war in Parabola
What do the Fingerkings want?
To escape from illusion into reality
What happened in the last February of sunlight?
The Bazaar Spoke
Correct Answer: "The Woods in Winter." I have no idea what that even means, so I'm not surprised I didn't get it! (I'm pretty sure my answer is technically correct, just presumably not as notable an event as I'd thought.)
